It has to be said that listening to your transistor radio in public has something of the nerdy anorak about it, especially if you're using the white, surgical-looking earphone that came with it. However, a US company called American Technology Corporation has made a bid to redeem the habit with the Ultralite 2000, which at 4 centimetres long is the smallest mass-market FM radio ever.
